How to become a public adjuster in Indiana
Indiana requires a public adjuster license. There is no statutory fee cap; the surety bond is $10,000; the governing law is IC 27-1-27.
The pathway
Getting licensed in Indiana
The license is the Public Adjuster certificate of authority (IC 27-1-27). It is its own license, so make sure any course or exam you book is the public adjuster one and not the company or independent adjuster version. Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI). Independent adjusters are licensed separately under IC 27-1-28 (40-hour prelicensing, 24 CE hours); staff adjusters are not licensed. Public adjuster requirements differ and are listed here.
