How to become a public adjuster in Arkansas
Arkansas does not allow public adjusting. The governing law is Ark. Code §§ 23-64-102, 23-64-201.
Arkansas defines adjusters as acting for the insurer and offers no public adjuster license; the Department states public adjusters are prohibited from adjusting claims.

There is no license to apply for. Arkansas defines adjusters as acting for the insurer and offers no public adjuster license; the regulator states public adjusters are prohibited from adjusting claims. Policyholders here rely on attorneys, appraisers and licensed contractors instead.
If you hold a license elsewhere, check the Arkansas Insurance Department before taking any Arkansas claim. Representing an insured for a fee can be treated as unlicensed practice.
What the regulator says
-
Understand that Arkansas issues no public adjuster license and the Insurance Department states public adjusters are prohibited from adjusting claims in the state.
-
Do not solicit or contract with Arkansas policyholders for a fee to adjust their claims; the Department treats this as unlicensed adjusting and asks that it be reported (501-371-2820).
-
Policyholders who want paid representation in Arkansas must use a licensed attorney; an 'insurance consultant' license allows advice on coverage but not claim negotiation.
-
If you hold public adjuster licenses elsewhere, note that Arkansas cannot serve as a home state for public adjusting in other states' reciprocity schemes.
